Case Studies

Ministry of Justice Digital Modernisation

Sector: Government & Critical Infrastructure

Project Value: £16M

Role: Senior Delivery Manager (MoJ / DISO Networks)

The Challenge: After years of outsourcing the MoJ decided to bring the whole technology operations in house. Merging and Aquiring many different configurations across the MoJ estate.

The MoJ required a massive Wi-Fi and firewall infrastructure rollout across high-security environments, including Prisons and Probation Offices. The project faced significant hurdles in physical connectivity (wayleaves), strict security mandates, and the logistical nightmare of working in operational correctional facilities.

The Solution: Andrew managed the end-to-end delivery of structured cabling and equipment deployment. By focusing on aggressive stakeholder engagement and streamlined vendor management, he navigated the "red tape" of government mandates and site access.

The Impact: * 80% of fibre installations completed ahead of schedule.

  • Provided the "digital backbone" for modern justice services, enhancing operational resilience.
  • Ensured 100% compliance with stringent government security standards.

The 5G Connected Forest

Sector: IoT & Heritage / Public Sector

Project Value: £10M (DCMS Funded)

Role: Head of Technology Delivery (Netmore IoT)

The Challenge: Deploying a world-first standalone 5G and LoRaWAN network within the sensitive environment of Sherwood Forest. The project required navigating strict Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) restrictions and Historic England requirements while managing a complex multi-partner consortium.

The Solution: Andrew led the technical delivery, overseeing the refurbishment of heritage communication rooms and the installation of fibre backhaul without disrupting the historic landscape. He also spearheaded the "Net Zero Innovation Hub," installing IoT sensors within Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) buildings to capture the data necessary to evidence carbon-neutral status.

The Impact: Successfully delivered the infrastructure for robot-aided forestry and visitor engagement.

  • Established a blueprint for how high-tech 5G infrastructure can coexist with environmental conservation.
  • Achieved "geek-to-human" synergy by translating complex technical requirements into actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders.

Smart Retail Transformation (intu Properties)

Sector: Construction & Smart Cities

Project Value: £20M+ (within a £160M redevelopment)

Role: Senior Construction Technology M&A Project Manager

The Challenge: intu Properties through Mergers and Acquisition, accumulated 17 Shopping Malls across the UK and Spain. The challenge was to merge these utilising synergies and best practice to be able to remotely manage systems by modernising some of the UK’s largest shopping centres during live renovations.

The goal was to integrate disparate systems—BMS, 5G, CCTV, and SKIDATA Carpark ANPR into a cohesive, data-driven environment without interrupting 24/7 public operations.

The Solution: Andrew led the technology integration, creating a "One Pane of Glass" dashboard for operations. He managed the installation of complex networks and security access systems that also fed real-time data directly into Police Enforcement systems.

The Impact: * Transformed legacy retail assets into high-tech "Smart City" hubs.

  • Improved security response times through direct data integration with local authorities.
  • Delivered sustainable, technology-driven solutions that increased operational efficiency for the landlord.

Industrial IoT Mobilisation (Forest Rock)

Sector: Energy & Building Management

Role: Programme Manager (Forest Rock Systems)

The Challenge: Transitioning a successful IoT proof-of-concept into a full-scale, nationwide mobilisation. The project required a complete overhaul of the staging and delivery process to move from a pilot phase to a sustainable "Business as Usual" (BAU) service.

The Solution: Andrew managed the relocation of the engineering test-beds and staging areas from Loughborough to Wakefield. He redesigned the equipment configuration and site delivery processes and chaired the iterative software release cycles between the development team and operational stakeholders.

The Impact: Created £100k in annual operational savings through process optimisation and delivered the customer an energy saving of over £8m.

  • Developed a scalable framework for deploying "one pane of glass" environmental monitoring (Solar, Wind, and Energy storage).
  • Bridged the gap between software development and site operations, ensuring bug fixes and upgrades were prioritised by business value.
